Update: Several weeks ago my cross-country biking buddy, Becky Bolander was hit by a car while on a training ride near her home in Toledo, OH. The good news is that she's ALIVE!!!! and that she did not need surgery for her multiple fractures in her hip and pelvis. Although she hoped she'd be healed enough to begin our cross-country adventure by the end of September 2024, after an attempted 326 mile "practice ride" across OH from Cincinnati to Cleveland, she realized that her healing was not complete. So, we've decided to postpone our cross-country bike ride to begin the end of March 2025. All the money that has been raised in 2024 will be disbursed in December 2024 so that the beneficiaries (listed below) can put it to good use. A new GRAMMY Ride 2025 by Donna Minter - Fundraising For Climate Ride has been set up for those who want to donate now and in 2025!  Please contact me directly at [email protected] if you have any questions or suggestions for me to reach my BHAG!
Warm regards for a cooler planet, Donna aka Grammy.

From March - June 2025, I am riding a self-contained 3200-mile Climate Ride Independent Challenge fundraising bicycle trip called: the GRAMMY Ride – Grammy Rides Across America for Climate Action to raise $500,000 for five local and national climate action organizations.

On March 13, 2025, I will be 67 years young, and ready to fulfill my dream from when I was 18 years old in 1976, to ride my bicycle across America. Over the years, I have ridden tens of thousands of miles on my bicycle, and because I am not getting any younger, I am plunging toward this Big Hairy Audacious Goal (BHAG) before I get too old to make it happen!

Adding to my BHAG, I have set an ambitious goal to raise $500,000 and community awareness for sustainable climate solutions and active transportation. My BHAG is called the GRAMMY Ride because, as a Grammy to three precious grandchildren, I am regularly thinking about how to make our world a better place for my grandchildren, your grandchildren, and everyone’s children as well as for us!

For 12 weeks, I will be cycling with my long-time bicycling friend, Becky Bolander, from San Diego, CA to St. Augustine, FL to support five fiscally responsible climate action nonprofit organizations to improve our and our planet’s future:
Climate Generation
Minnesota Interfaith Power and Light
Third Act
Climate STARR (Climate Strategies for Trauma, Action, Resilience, and Regeneration)
Climate Ride

So that 100% of the contributions toward my $500,000 BHAG will support climate justice action, I am covering all my personal trip costs with the money I received from my parents when my father died in February 2020. My self-contained bicycling adventure is a physical, mental, and financial challenge - so I need the help of others like you and your thousands of climate action friends! I invite you to share my story with your community so others can participate with generous giving, inspiration, and thoughts and prayers.

Although I am a solid, sturdy cyclist, I will need all the psychological and spiritual help I can get! Together, we can work for good things to happen for the future of our life together on Mother Earth.

P.S. Thanks to the Climate Ride Team for allowing me to make the GRAMMY Ride a Climate Ride Independent Challenge. I highly recommend Climate Ride events that are unique and life-changing experiences. Their organization delivers millions of dollars in grants each year to other nonprofits in the fields of bike advocacy, conservation, and climate solutions around the U.S. To sign up for your own amazing Climate Ride experience, you can check out their events list here!
